Luxury Home Remodeling at Old Palm Golf Club

Renovating Where Every Home Was Custom-Built

Old Palm Golf Club is a different community than the other gated developments in Palm Beach Gardens. The community is smaller, with around 300 homes across four neighborhoods on 650 acres, and many of those homes were custom-designed and built for their original owners. The result is a community where no two homes are the same, and where renovation work begins with respect for what the original builder and homeowner created. Our work in this community is about evolution and refinement, not about modernization that erases what is already there.

Palmhouse Design & Build has been doing this work for 20+ years. Our Florida General Contractor license is CGC1537109. Consultations are by appointment. Call 561-831-4170 to schedule.

Custom From the Start

Old Palm homes were built to a high specification from day one. The architectural detail, the millwork, the trim, the cabinetry, much of it is high-quality custom work that was designed for the specific home. The kitchen cabinetry in many of these homes is not catalog work. The interior millwork was drawn for the specific room. The hardware and finishes were selected from a wider pool than the typical production-home builder uses. The result is that a renovation here is not a teardown-and-rebuild exercise.

The work we do is about updating what makes sense to update. Kitchen and bath programs benefit from current technology and current selections. Primary bath suites get refreshed for the homeowner’s current stage of life. Interior finish refreshes align with the homeowner’s evolved taste, which is rarely the same in 2026 as it was when the home was built fifteen or twenty years ago. The goal is to refine what is already there, not to replace it. Repair-first is often the right answer when the original work warrants preservation. The original mahogany millwork that has aged beautifully is worth refinishing, not replacing. The original stone counter that the homeowner has lived with for fifteen years is sometimes worth keeping and recutting for a new layout rather than swapping out entirely.

What Evolutionary Renovation Looks Like

Examples of common scope here. Kitchen renovation that refines the cabinetry envelope, the appliance package, and the lighting plan while preserving the room’s original architectural detailing. Primary bath suites updated with current spa-tier program (steam shower, wet room, soaking tub) within the existing footprint, because the original footprint usually works once the program is refreshed. Interior finish refreshes touch flooring, paint, lighting plans, and hardware throughout the public spaces of the home.

Custom cabinetry repairs and refinishing rather than wholesale replacement when the original work is worth preserving. Outdoor-living additions and refinements that match the architectural character of the home, not generic outdoor-kitchen modules. We work with the original cabinetmakers’ specifications when they can be sourced. We document existing conditions in detail before we cut.

The discipline runs deeper than just preserving what’s visible. A primary suite refresh that updates the bathroom and the dressing area but preserves the original interior architecture reads as continuous evolution of the home rather than a foreign intervention. The new lighting plan complements the original ceiling detail rather than competing with it. The new tile selection picks up on tones the original stone counter already established. The result is a refreshed home that still feels like the same home, not a different home wearing the same shell.

Old Palm HOA Architectural Review

Renovation submittals at Old Palm go through the community’s architectural-review process. Exterior changes (windows, doors, paint, roofing, hardscape) require approval. Interior renovations may also require notice depending on the specific scope. We coordinate the submittal package from our office and run City of Palm Beach Gardens permitting on a parallel track. The homeowner sees one project manager handling both, from pre-design through final inspection and association sign-off.
